Ever seen the commercials where the man always shaves before a huge meeting or a big interview, yes, they’re right… It does make a difference. 

A shaved and clean face makes you look elegant and polished and I don’t have to tell you why that’s important to impress your employer if you want that job.

How to shave your beard?

Knowing the correct way to shave your beard is extremely important to avoid any rashes or cuts on your face. That’s why I am here with this guide to help you so you don’t have to go through any pains the next time you put a razor on your beard.

1. Wet your hair

The first step needed for shaving your beard is wetting the hair. Damp hair is weaker than dry hair and is easier to cut. It also avoids any kinds of irritation or burns that can happen from razors.

2. Apply cream

If you want an easy glide on your face while shaving then invest in good quality shaving creams that have good lubricant concentration and moisturizing properties.

There are mainly two types of creams best suited for, foam and cream. Choose what works for you and while we are at it, also make sure to invest in a good shaving brush. Spreading the cream with the brush exfoliates the skin underneath, which is guaranteed to make your skin softer after shaving.

3. Shave properly

The art of shaving isn’t a tough process if you take care of these steps while doing it. Always shave in the direction of your hair. Shaving against it is surely going to give you a much closer shave but due to the hard hair, you become more prone to cutting yourself.

Also, always start from the softer regions, that is, corners, and then gradually finish with the hard hair.

4. Reshave

If you did not achieve a clean shave on the first go, don’t worry. Apply cream again and move the razor on your face one more time to achieve a clean and bright face.

5. Skincare post-shaving

Face shaving does not end with using the razor. A post-shave skin care routine will help maintain the glow on your skin for the long term. So, let’s go ahead and see what you should do to see that aftershave glow on your face.

Cleanse – Cleanse your face with a good face wash to wipe off the dirt from your face.
